Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This is the farthest you can get from a tourist trap in Italy. Eight indoor tables and a staff of three with a tiny open kitchen. Bread arrives at the table in a brown paper sack. The wine list is long but we did very well with glasses of house red. We were the only English speaking customers on a Saturday afternoon. My wife had the tagliatelle with goat ragu and I had the beef tongue--both delicious and the perfect portion size. Prices are very reasonable. If we lived here we'd probably eat there every week."
"This is one of our favourite restaurants for lunch and dinner in Siena. They specialize in pork, offal, and deliciousness. The staff/chefs are always friendly, helpful and so personable. The food is great value for the money and absolutely delicious every time. A definite gem to go to for non-tourist, authentic Tuscan food."
"A traditional Siena Osteria yet with a unique focus on good food with very friendly and efficient service, authentic local dishes with a personal touch of originality, like Tegamata pork stew with kimchi. Nice atmosphere, you can feel the passion about providing fantastic, local food experience with a slow food approach. Cold cuts dishes, pasta, meat dishes all look incredibly good. The house wine was great and very reasonable. They handle equally well regular, local customers and visitors from out of town."
"amazing food. you need to get the coffee cake mousse!! the steak & potatoes are to die for. The pasta we got was so fresh and amazing quality. Highly recommend this place, it has that homey/local feel to it for sure!"
"This is a nice little restaurant with food prepared infront of you in the kitchen. The restaurant itself looks simple, however the food they offer was delicious! We tried the meat and cheese board, the ragu pasta, the quail pasta, and the fennel and mussles pasta, they were all delicious!! We also talked their red house wone and it was good. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared meal away from the crowds in the piazza del camp, then this is a great spot for you."
"Wow! What a great evening. A recommendation from our lovely host and we weren’t disappointed. This is a locals spot. We really enjoyed the open kitchen and watching the the dishes get plated."
"Excellent Tuscan restaurant in the heart of old town Siena. It offers a varied menu at a good price quality. Open kitchen concept/ Good service. Recommended."
"Incredible food, lovely house wine. Definitely worth a visit when in Siena. Avoid the tourist traps and head to this great osteria."
